Antz saga continue

Yes the ants are still with us they have decided to move from the kettle to the toilet. Yes you read correctly the TOILET, inside the lid on top of the water container behind you, when you sitting on the Loo. The lid of my toilet is cracked and there is hollow part in the lid so the ants moved in.

Every now and then when you flash the toilet, the ants flash away as some of them crawls around every where ….. just use your imagination.

There is still a few ants floating around in the kitchen, last night I was making a sandwich and only after I spread the butter and cheese on did I realize that the “crumbs” in the butter was not from the mornings toast, but actually ants stuck in the butter. This is not the first time I consume ants, the previous times was late at night. I decide to re-use my glass and trying to save electricity I poured the juice in my class in the dark. After the second big sip I realized that there is something dark floating on top and wonder why there was chocolate sprinkles in my glass, “what did these kids do now again” goes through my mind. I realized with a shock that it’s the antz and start spewing them and the juice out. Believe it or not this was the second time this happened to me. You would think that I learnt my lesson the first time……. LOL.

So now I am starting to wonder how much protein each ant might have and what other good nutrient stuff they may contain. So what if I leave a slice of bread with butter and syrup on the counter for a few minutes and let the ants gather themselves onto the stick syrup, will that make a tasty new treat or I am just trying to play fear factor in my own kitchen???

Please give me your thoughts on if ants can make a tasty alternative snack or not?

Do any one know their nutritional value at all?

ANTZ INVASION AND GOOD FRIENDS

Ants is very small creatures and they mean us no harm, but times is though for all of us even the ants is feeling the pinch, so what do they do they invade our space....  and what do we do about them???????

My  4 year old son watched the move Antz Bully the other day for the first time, after seeing the movie a few times he notice the ants walking on the chest freezers lid,

He asked me: “ Mommy can these ants talk?”

I answered: “No, my son why?”

He responded: “ Well then I can step on them”

The ants in the movie talk and they can shrink naughty kids, but if they cannot talk, then they cannot shrink us ..... that was probably his train of thought....

Due to the extremely hot weather we are experiencing currently in Cape Town there is an ants attack / invasion.......

A Good friend is: one who do not mind having a cup of tea with you after she helped you scooped out the two lost ants from your cup of tea, that you were not able to wash out after having to clean the kettle from top to bottom before  even starting to boil water for two cups of tea.

The invasion is so bad that when you want a cup of tea, you have to check the kettle first, when I opened it I was convinced that the nest was in the kettle even if there is water in.

I have to put  the syrup bottle in a  small Tupperware container filled with water to prevent them from getting into the syrup, there is no time in the morning rush to struggle get the syrup bottle ants free so we make a plan.

My friend reported that in her house she found them in the toilet bowl and I told her that I saw them on the toilet paper

The best story of the antz invasion is that of what happened to my teenage daughter.

She came out of the shower, run to her room, grabbed her towel that was laying on her bedroom floor for about two days. Next thing I hear she is screaming and back in the shower, I was watching her actions from the lounge.

Closer inspection revealed that the ants gathered under her damp towel, their way of keeping cool in the heat wave, she was back in  the shower to was of the ants that stuck to her wet body.

Her bedroom floor was covered in ants and behind the door, where the towel was minutes before, it  looked like an ant gathering to discuss their next plan for cooling down in the heat. Well guess what their next meeting place was in the dustbin  as we swept the ants up after spraying them with some flea spray as the normal bug spray was empty.... Murphy’s law or what ?

Well no matter what we try the ants is here to stay so I just was the kettle every time I want to make a cup of tea for my good friends that understand as they have similar invasions being it ants or other goggas........ 

Females and Cars

Cars are like men can't live with them and can't do without or something like that ........

Female drivers are better just go and look at the stats, if you don’t believe me go google it.

Us women need to make sure we know some things about our cars and not just where to put the petrol in and what type of petrol to use.
We need to know that you have to check the water, battery water, oil levels and tyre pressures
if you have an older car you need to ensure that you check these things weekly or top them  up

The other stuff we need to know is that our cars need to be serviced regularly

but learn to do this yourself as it will safe u some money it’s very easy to replace the plugs and filters on cars
If I can do it so can you ... yes you heard me I have done this more than once, but there us some things that I leave for the experts to do

Next time trust your gut and do it yourself,  my motto is if I can take it apart I can put it back together again, that’s for everything excluding my 2 marriages LOL ( means Laugh out loud and not lots of love as I thought the 1^st time I saw it) go for it double LOL.

Many a time when my car makes those funny noises I tell the menkanieks that xyz is the problem then they do not agree and check out and investigate everything from a-w and in the end I was right about what was wrong typical men folk.

We know our cars and that funny noise its making trust your gut feel about what is wrong with your car

Laptops

Last year I found the need to acuire a laptop what an episode that was

I asked a good friend what specs a good laptop should have and also decided what price range I can afford to buy
I also motice that for some odd reason there was a lot of spare cash in my account just enough to buy a laptop

I looked in all the adds and saw one that I liked
went to the 1st shop and about 5 sales guys storms towards me
I ask very politely that I would like to buy a laptop

they asked what tipe and i just could not resist to act bottled brunett (Blond)
I said " A PINK ONE please" their faces said it all .......

But they where quick thinkers and quickly started to close the laptops on display and to show me the colours of the lids ....LOL... that was hilarious

I decide that I need to shop around and asked a friend to go with me to canal walk

I did the same thing at 2 other shops with very different reactions some even had pink laptops

I then got to the last shop about 10 mins before closing time saw in the window what i wanted and in less than 2 min the sales guy made his sale

At the till I realised that I have swiped my debit card already and that I can only pay some of the money on that card, then ran to the ATM draw some more money from the debit card and the last bit was paid on my credit card where my other money was.

The salesman was doing all of this as the shop was closing and we walk to of there after the doors have closed as I could not wait until the next day for that laptop, it was red and matched my red berry

Well last year I decided stuff this I want to have some fun in my life ..... and why not..

So I decided that I would like to have a toyboy AND a sugar daddy...

You might ask how did it go ... here is the story


Well the secret is not to go looking for them they will find you as was the case with the toy boy

He approached me about private lessons ( NO Not that kind ... he did not need that kind of lessons at all)
and after the first meeting he was eyeing me already

He decided not to attend the lessons as he decided to study something else in stead ... and that was not me either...

just one problem if you have a toy boy make sure he lives close enough to you .. why so that he can visit you often enough and not just every 3 months or so...
yes he was staying on the very far side of town and to put the cherry on the cake and not some where else....
he was working 24 hour shifts for the fire brigade so he was HOT all the time not even to mention sexy ....

the other thing to make sure of if and when you have a toy boy that you do not get emotionally attached as this will only lead to complications and broken hearts...

Toy boys can be great fun to have around for a afternoon or evening ... PLEASE ladies just one at a time unless you prefer more LOL

When they around all your inhibitions go flying out the door of course as that's the only way to have good CLEAN fun, so invest in lost of bubble bath .......

You can cook a meal for him or he for you and one can be the NAKED chef with apron on ......... the food was great I learned a new dish from him Yummy yum yummmmmmmmmmm


Sugar daddies / mommies

They are harder to cross paths with as I haven't met him yet it might be this year his turn and when I do find him, he must be able to spoil me rotten...


he must not be to old as that wont be any fun at all

he must be young enough of age and spirit to be fun all the way round or must I rather say every where you want to take him or him take you ...

Saving Money !!!!

Sometimes we can safe ourselves a lot or maybe just a little money ......
You want to know how  you ask?????????????

That's easy ...........

just follow the following steps......

Step 1: when an appliance is giving problems or stop working, do a basic inspection  by looking in side it without taking  it apart, if its small enough to hold in your hands just turn it around. for example :
my washing machine was not working correctly I DID NOT DO THE BASIC INSPECTION, this can cost you money if you don't do this

Step 2: If the problem is obvious fix it yourself or by process of elimination find out what the problem is, so that when you do have to call someone you have an idea of the problem e.g. is the drum turning while hearing the motor running or is there power reaching the appliance etc... maybe it just need a new plug or a new light bulb

Step 3: if you really cant fix it call someone, but at lease have an idea of what is wrong. have it fixed before rushing out and buying a new one it will cost you less to repair than... back to the washing machine I did call someone why because I did not do the basic inspection first.

If i did do the inspection I would have found the missing new pillow case that disappeared strangely on Wednesday when i wanted to wash it.
The pillow case some how found its way in to the turning mechanism at the bottom of the washing machine,  hear I am already stressing about not having the money for a new machine, once the pillowcase was removed in one piece the machine was working as if nothing ever happened

How much did this cost me: Just R50 bucks for the my dear old friends petrol and a glass of cool drink and and an ear for him..

It could have cost me roughly R 2500  for a new machine ......

which one would you chose ?????????

Crazy week....

What a crazy week this was ... Classes started on Monday with total confusion as nobody knew where to go neither staff nor students.

once the chaos was organised the lectures started ... limited equipment as due to the move nothing has arrived yet and there was only limited resources to use, but we bit our tongues and showed what we where made of .... (Steel of course). So the others followed our example otherwise they will be in the eyes ....

dust is surrounding us on a daily basis ....No I do not work in a desert .... due to construction of office and sand outside.

the promise that our offices will be ready  on Monday seems good ..... that mean next week will be another hectic,chaotic week of moving in and unpacking...

I manage to change the water in the pool just in time for the heat wave we have now and was able to cool down in the pool just before the thunder started, what a  joy that was yesterday afternoon to have a cool blue pool again.. thanks oupa and my oldest for helping me...

Wednesday started a new course for the year and was told we must twitter so now  I am a tweeter 2

that is now the second new thing for this year (1 the blog and 2 twitter)


Friday started with a bang or rather a crash no no a fall .. only 3 stairs and I fall head over tail down them
nothing broken but my legs are sore...

hope the weekend will be calm enough to rest my bones

I am working on a few other blogs but keep forgetting to copy them from my laptop to my flash.. so watch this space

Single Moms divorced or not are we not all?

Some of us are single moms others just feel like single moms, as they have hubby's but ja do they always help us ???????

Absenst dads ( they are there but only in body) can play a big role in any house hold, I just wish for my friends and all of you struggling with this problem that some of their hubbies can play a bigger role in bringing up the kids.

I am busy getting divorced, my kids are small, but young enough to have minds of their own and already they say that they dont want to go visit their dad. I wonder why ??? or may be i should not wonder at all as the answer is right in front of us.

Sometimes the dads just upset the routines of smooth running house holds

we are sometimes VERY furstrated with our curcumstances and we dont always know how to deal with all these hardships live gives us

well in the last couple of years I had to learn how to replace light switches rewire stoves and lots of other crazy things and it only made me a stronger person

my 3 friends will also help me post on this blog, must just figure out how to add them as authors the are Candy, Sandy and Brandy
so feel free to ask us for advice or just complain with us about live and all its ups and downs
